Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts/pecan (optional)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp hot water
  • 2cups chocolate chips – semi sweet preferred
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius)
  2. Combine the butter, brown sugar and white sugar in a bowl and mix it well till it forms a smooth creamy consistency. Add in the eggs one at a time followed by the vanilla extract. Stir well. 
  3. In a separate glass, mix the baking soda and hot water until it is completely dissolved. Now add the baking soda water into the batter along with salt. Combine the flour, chocolate chips and nuts into the batter and fold the entire mixture well. 
  4. Take the final batter mix into large spoons and drop into the cookie pans.  Do not grease the pans. 
  5. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes or until the edges form an even and brown crust. 
  6. Enjoy your freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside with some cold milk.
